Key Features | - Reduced operating cost. By switching to IP connectivity, ATM networks can leverage in-store DSL or cable and mitigate the need to replace expensive ATM equipment
- Improved management capability. The ATMConnect service provides end-to-end, proactive management and monitoring of all field devices
- Simplified migration. With its “phone home” capabilities, the ATMConnect is easy to install, and eliminates the need to retrain employees on new equipment
- Easy installation. Automated setup makes ATMConnect a truly “plug & play” solution. Just plug in the device and it will automatically connect to the management server to load the proper configuration
- High security. The ATMConnect supports VPN, SSL and Triple DES
- High availability. Connecting through Hypercom’s Secure Transaction Network ensures no-single-point-of-failure and allows for device failover to multiple host destinations. PPP dial backup is also available
- Two-way communication. In an IP environment, the ATM driver can communicate down to the ATM, allowing for periodic software updates
- Improved troubleshooting. The Hypercom service will constantly poll down to the location to ensure that both the ATM and the communication service are operational. Alarm thresholds are parameter driven to allow for customization.
| Product Data | With the proliferation of ATMs and cash dispensers, the industry has seen a dramatic shift from leased line to dial communication. A cost-effective shift to be sure, but one that has come at the price of speed and customer service. Now, with the growing market for IP, you have an opportunity to accelerate transaction times, while still providing a costeffective ATM solution. And it’s brought to you by Hypercom Corporation, a leading provider of point-of-service devices and network solutions worldwide. Hypercom’s ATMConnect enables ATM owners to protect their investment by converting dial ATMs to IP - generally without any change to the processing host or ATM software. | Transaction Processing | Hypercom ATMConnect can take in connections through a RJ-11 dial port from an ATM, converting the dial protocol to TCP/IP. ATMConnect will secure the transaction with SSL and connect into either a broadband or wireless modem. Transactions will be answered via the Internet and then be passed over secure connections to Hypercom-provided equipment at the processor’s data center. For high availability, Hypercom can route transactions to a primary or secondary host either for load balancing or disaster backup. | ATM Management | Once the Hypercom ATMConnect device is connected to electric power and the router/modem, it will be registered on the Hypercom Secure Transaction Network and then it will immediately “phone home” to draw down a configuration. From the point of registration onward, Hypercom’s professional Technical Assistance Center (TAC) will be able to manage and monitor the device 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ATMConnect device will alert the Hypercom monitoring service if communication is lost between the ATM and the ATMConnect device. ATMConnect also monitors the ATM’s status and the status of the broadband connection. A sophisticated array of alerts will allow the Hypercom TAC to proactively alert customers to outage situations from the ATM all the way to the host processor ports. | | |
