Imagine it...free power anywhere...In the desert, on safari, up a mountain or simply on the move, the solargorilla portable solar charger gives your powergorilla juice anywhere under the sun. solargorilla is also a viable charging option for laptops under 40 watts and it can even charge your mobile phone, iPod, handheld games consoles and many more devices from the 5V USB output.
Solargorilla works via two PV (photovoltaic) solar panels, which generate electric current when they are exposed to sunlight. The solar panels are made of glass which greatly improves the performance of the solargorilla as well as making the aesthetics of the unit better. The Red LED on the solargorilla indicates the strength of charge - the more UV intensity - the better it will work! The technically advanced solar panels ensure superb power and reliable performance, all housed in a tough outer casing.

Note: solargorilla is a charging option. It is primarily designed to be used in conjunction with the powergorilla and may not work with some laptops over 40 watts directly. It relies on the UV intensity of the sun. Therefore, at certain times of the year it may not be suitable for use in the Northern Hemisphere unless combined with the powergorilla. The solargorilla solar charger has been trialled successfully in the Southern Hemisphere by aid agencies, emergency services, the military and adventure travellers, where power is a crucial element of their communications strategy. The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation suffered communications problems in the past and the products have been hugely acclaimed as being a long overdue solution to power issues. Pre-production units have also been on field tests in Africa, Australia and even Afghanistan. The solargorilla was extensively field-tested in the UK earlier this year, where it powered a number of laptops for a week at a time.
To use with Macbook, Macbook Air and Macbook Pro you will need an Apple MagSafe airline adaptor. or our alternate connection solution and one of our universal car charger sockets. The MagSafe adaptor is available to buy from us. Please note: the MagSafe cable is only suitable for Apple Macs incorporating the MagSafe style of connector. If you are unsure if your Mac uses MagSafe, please email support@powertraveller.com - you may require the L77D tip for the older Mac laptops (such as powerbook). The MagSafe cable will only POWER laptops, not charge them. For an alternative connection solution to the MagSafe connector - please contact support@powertraveller.comTo clean, only wipe with a water-damp clean cloth. Do not use chemical cleaning solutions.
